
Cameron Construction completed a lighting upgrade during the recent annual closure of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Oquirrh Mountain Temple. The project included adding new light fixtures and moving existing ones throughout the temple. New 30,000 sqft Jewish Community Center and Synagogue building. Classrooms, multipurpose room, kitchen, conference room, offices and a large exterior patio. AWARD WINNER: This 32,000 sq. foot church is constructed of 330 tons of steel, 730 cubic yards of concrete, split faced concrete masonry units and three colors of emperor size brick. Structural steel design for this project required extensive involvement between the architect, contractor, structural engineer and steel fabricator in order to make the design fully functional. AWARD WINNER: The Cameron team restored a 100 year old historically registered building. Key facets of the project included seismic upgrading and retrofit to structural steel, new life safety of interior, classrooms, exterior walls to fireplaces, stairways, new roof, elevator and upgrades to plumbing, HVAC and electrical. Demolition and construction were scheduled around school events.
